Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about sourcing chemicals from China
About Sourcing & Procurement
How do you ensure product quality?
I check it myself before it leaves China — the person who sourced the material is the person who reads the certificate, so there is no gap between ordering and inspecting. I can provide GMP certificates, testing reports, and certificates of analysis on request.
What is your minimum order quantity?
Our MOQ 1 FCL for most products. We understand that different buyers have different needs, so we're flexible with quantities. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
Do you work with small businesses?
Absolutely! We welcome orders of all sizes. Whether you need 1 FCL or 25 tons, we provide the same level of service and attention to quality.
Products & Specifications
Can you source a product that is not on your catalogue?
Usually yes. Send the product name, CAS number and quantity and we will tell you within 24–48 hours whether it is something we can quote. If we have no upstream relationship with it, we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.
Two things worth being straight about. First, our price may not beat a company that specialises in one narrow product category — they can genuinely be cheaper on that specific item. Where we compete is on products we have a factory relationship behind.
Second, and this is the part that matters: for a product we are sourcing for you, we will go to the factory and check it ourselves. Not a certificate forwarded from the supplier — an actual visit before we put your money behind it.
Can you arrange custom formulations or packaging?
Yes, we can arrange differentiated production based on your requirements. This includes custom formulations, special packaging, and private labeling. Contact us to discuss your specific needs.
What certifications can you provide?
Upon request, we can provide GMP certificates, testing reports (COA), MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), certificates of origin, and bill of lading.
Shipping & Logistics
How does shipping work?
Sea freight is the main mode, and the company arranges it — you are not left to find a forwarder yourself. We handle the booking, the export documentation and the shipping paperwork, and the freight comes back as a separate line on the quote rather than buried in the unit price, so you can see what the goods cost and what getting them there costs. If your company has its own logistics team and would rather book the vessel yourself, we supply everything needed to clear customs at destination.
How long does shipping take?
Two separate clocks, and it is worth keeping them apart. The first is getting the goods made and documented — that is quoted per product, because it depends on the material, the quantity and the factory. The second is transit, which depends on the destination port and is outside our control. Both come back with the quote; neither is a fixed number on this page, because a fixed number here would be a number we could not keep.
Do you ship by air?
Not as a standard offer, and we will not quote air freight to make a price look better than it is. Bulk chemical does not move that way as a rule, and a quote built on it tends to fall apart at the port. If a shipment genuinely cannot wait, say so with your quote request and you will get a straight answer about whether it is possible.
Pricing & Payment
How is your pricing structured?
Our pricing includes the product cost, quality inspection, packaging, and export documentation. We'll provide a detailed quote showing all costs including shipping so you know exactly what to expect.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept various payment methods including T/T (bank transfer), PayPal, and Western Union. Payment terms are negotiable per order rather than fixed — for a first order we discuss a deposit and a balance schedule against the order, and what is workable depends on the order and on the relationship. Tell me what you are used to working with and we will talk it through before anything is committed.
Customer Qualification — Is SUNWARD Right for You?
Does SUNWARD work with large multinational companies?
Honest answer: usually no, and that is a deliberate choice, not a limitation. Large multinational pharmaceutical companies need factory-direct contracts, dedicated regulatory affairs teams in China, and audited supply chains. As a Hong Kong trading company, we are not built to deliver that level of infrastructure — and frankly, you would be better served by one of the major global distributors who specialize in that scale.
What we do well: mid-sized veterinary pharmaceutical buyers whose China sourcing is still developing, companies who have a real procurement team but not a China office, and buyers who need a stabilizer (factory selection, quality consistency, production continuity, schedule reliability) rather than a broker. The full positioning is on our pillar page on China supply chain stabilization. If you are unsure whether you fit, send us a note — a 5-minute conversation can save us both weeks of emails.
We already have a Chinese factory we work with directly. Why would we add you?
Three common reasons. (1) Backup supplier: if your primary factory has a production issue, you have a second source ready. (2) Hard-to-find products: if you need a product your current factory doesn't make, we can fill the gap from our network. (3) Comparison sourcing: a second quote on the same product keeps your primary factory honest on price and lead time. We are not built to replace your existing supplier — we are built to be the supplementary partner that makes your existing relationship more resilient.
What is the smallest order SUNWARD will accept?
1 FCL for most products. This is a genuine starting point, not a "talk to our sales team" number. We have first-time buyers who order 1 FCL, test the documentation and quality, and then scale up. If you are testing China sourcing for the first time, a 1 FCL trial is the right way to start.
Do you require a long-term contract before working with us?
No. The first order is a 1 FCL trial, no long-term commitment. We earn the long-term relationship by delivering on documentation, quality, and schedule. Some of our best customers started with a 1 FCL trial and now order 1,000+ kg per quarter. We would rather build trust over three to five trial orders than ask you to sign a contract before you have seen our work.

Two subjects that come up before the first order have their own pages: what the minimum order quantity means in practice, and what documents travel with the shipment.
